Arthritis & Joint Care Treatment in Ayurveda
Arthritis (Amavata / Sandhivata) is a Vata and Ama disorder. Ayurveda treats joint pain by pacifying aggravated Vata, eliminating Ama from the joints, and restoring mobility and strength to the affected tissues.
Book ConsultationOur Approach: At Herbal Hills Ayurvedic Wellness Center, our doctors begin every consultation with Nadi Parikshan (pulse diagnosis). This helps identify the type of arthritis, the dominant dosha imbalance, and the extent of Ama accumulation — ensuring a truly personalised treatment plan for your joint health.
Understanding Arthritis in Ayurveda
Ayurveda recognises two primary forms of arthritis: Amavata (rheumatoid arthritis) — caused by the accumulation of Ama (digestive toxins) combined with aggravated Vata settling in the joints; and Sandhivata (osteoarthritis) — caused by the depletion of Sleshaka Kapha (joint lubrication) and aggravated Vata leading to degeneration of joint cartilage.
Ayurvedic treatment focuses on eliminating Ama, pacifying Vata, nourishing depleted joint tissues, and restoring the natural lubrication and mobility of the joints — addressing the root cause rather than only managing symptoms.
